My Experience as a Product Design Fellow Working at Impact Africa Network

My career path has changed significantly since August 2023, when I became a fellow at  Impact Africa Network. My journey started as a simple LinkedIn application and quickly developed into a demanding four-stage interview process that led to my current position as a product designer. As I think back on the last six months, I feel obliged to relate the thrilling adventure that has moulded me into the person I am today, not just a designer.

Interviewing for Impact Africa Network Fellowship Program

It was like sailing over unknown waters during the Impact Africa Network interview process. Every step of the process, from interacting with HR to confronting the CEO, came with its own set of difficulties.  However, it was just these difficulties that motivated me to reach new heights and fulfil my potential.  The interviews, though daunting, served as invaluable opportunities for growth and self-discovery.

Onboarding at Impact Africa Network

Upon stepping foot into the vibrant ecosystem of Impact Africa Network, I was immediately welcomed with open arms and a strong sense of brotherhood. The company's culture acted as a beacon of guidance, encouraging a collaborative and innovative environment, and the onboarding process was smooth. I was able to develop both personally and professionally because of the support and encouragement I received from this supportive environment.

Learning and Development Opportunities

Central to my journey of growth at Impact Africa Network has been the organisation's unwavering commitment to learning and development. Through structured programs and hands-on experiences, I have honed my skills as a product designer, transcending my previous limitations. The growth opportunities have been abundant, and I have emerged tenfold stronger and more proficient than when I first embarked on this journey.

Project Experience: Roots Africa

One of the defining moments of my tenure at Impact Africa Network has been my involvement in the Roots Africa project. From its inception to execution, I was granted the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to this ambitious endeavour. Serving not only as a designer but also as a catalyst for change, the project epitomised the organisation's ethos of driving positive impact on the African continent.
